Best odds this week: five UK competitions worth a look

Every week a handful of UK prize competitions close with a large share of their tickets unsold. Those are the draws where a £10 spend buys you meaningfully better odds than the same £10 in a heavily subscribed headline draw.

The rule of thumb is simple: divide the total ticket cap by the number of tickets you would buy to get your odds if it sells out, then divide the tickets already sold by your tickets to get your odds if it closes as-is. When those two numbers are far apart, the draw is undersold and worth a closer look.

This week the pattern is clearest in the mid-priced car draws. Caps between 10,000 and 50,000 tickets that sit below 45% sold with under 48 hours left are the sweet spot: big enough prize to matter, small enough field for the odds to move.

Two cautions. First, sold percentages only help if the operator publishes a real cap — if there is no cap, you cannot calculate anything. Second, operators can and do extend closing dates on undersold draws, which resets the maths.
